Hundreds of angry dairy farmers from across the South West blockaded the Robert Wiseman Dairy in Bridgwater last night. It was in a protest over a 4 pence cut in milk prices over the last three months.
They parked their tractors in front of the milk processing plant, preventing deliveries. Farmers For Action warn that it could be the 'first of many' blockades unless they get their 'money back'.
The government has agreed a voluntary code of practice between dairy farmers and milk processors.
One of Britain’s leading retailers says it is increasing the premium it pays farmers for their milk.
