Mobile phone app to help motorists involved in collisions

A new way of saving the lives of people caught in road accidents was launched today.

It's an app you can download to your mobile phone that is full of vital information that could help you and the emergency services.

It was launched in Exeter today, as Richard Lawrence reports:

The 'P.A.N.I.C' App has been developed in partnership with the Police, Fire service, Ambulance service and Devon County Council.

PANIC stands for Protect, Assess, Number, Injuries and Call which tells the user exactly what to do in the event of a crash.

It was developed after 18 year old Nicole Perrett from South Devon admitted that she did not know what to do when she was involved in a crash.

The App will be available in Apple, Android and Blackberry versions and available on the Learn2Live website.
