Poltair Hospital is closed because of staff shortages but there are calls to reopen it to solve problems at The Royal Cornwall Hospital.

Penzance hospital is temporarily closed

All the beds at a hospital in west Cornwall are being temporarily closed because of staff shortages. The decision affects 10 'in-patient' beds at Poltair Hospital, near Penzance.

Staff will be redeployed to hospitals in Helston and St Ives, while outpatient clinics at Poltair will continue as normal.
