The Deputy Leader of Cornwall Council has resigned over plans to part privatise some public services.

Jim Currie said the financial risks of private companies bidding to run key services such as libraries were 'unacceptable'.

In an email to the council leader he also said he could not leave local government with billions of pounds of Cornish taxpayers' money at risk.

ITV Westcountry has asked the council leader for his reaction but he is yet to respond.
