Two people were rescued by helicopter this evening after their car was stuck in floodwater in Sheepwash, near Beaworthy.
Emergency services received a call from a stranded motorist and her child at around 7.15pm.
They had climbed onto the roof of the vehicle, but couldn't get to safety due to the fast flowing water.
The car soon washed away and the pair were left holding on to a tree.
Water rescue equipment, a rescue boat and a Sea King helicopter were all used in the rescue, which took 2 hours.
The Hazardous Area Response Team from the ambulance service were also in attendance.
