Side wall of canal collapses

Part of the Grand Western Canal near Tiverton has collapsed because of the huge volume of rainwater. Thousands of gallons escaped yesterday from the two hundred year old structure, and some local houses have been evacuated.

Grand re-opening of the Great Western Canal near Tiverton

The Grand Western Canal and towpath have been officially re-opened at Halberton more than a year after its banks were breached during a severe winter storm.
