Warning as two people and a dog rescued from floods near Taunton
Fire crews were called to Cothelstone near Bishops Lydeard earlier today to deal with a vehicle trapped in flood water. The crews put on dry suits and waded into the water, managing to rescue two people and a dog.
Devon & Somerset Fire Service is warning people not to risk driving through floods.
– PAUL SLAVEN, DEVON & SOMERSET FIRE & RESCUE SERVICEThe fire crews have had to carry out dozens of rescues from flood water in the last week. Water levels are still quite high in some parts of Somerset. I would recommend people not to drive through flood water as it's dangerous, not just for the people themselves but also for the fire crews who come to rescue them.
