Two arrested in Torquay under Terrorism Act
Two men arrested in Torquay earlier today [Thursday] are being held under the Terrorism Act.
It comes after properties in the Lymington Road area were evacuated and bomb disposal experts called to the scene.
The two arrested men were initially detained on suspicion of committing criminal damage, but later rearrested under Section 41 of the Terrorism Act – the preparation of a terrorist act.
The 20 year-old man and 18 year-old man, both from Torquay, remain in police custody.
