TRAINS: Latest on the flooded Barnstaple branch line
A revised timetable continues to operate on the Barnstaple branch line.
Network Rail is hopeful that the remaining two structures which require inspection by divers can be undertaken this morning.
– Network Rail spokespersonThe final two structures at Taw in the general area of Umberleigh to Barnstaple cannot be dived today and cannot be passed with the tamper, so we are not able to get the highest mileage site tamped.
If the divers cannot dive today, the re-opening of the branch line from Crediton to Barnstaple on Saturday is at risk.
The section between Exeter St Davids and Crediton is already open.
