A 21-year-old man's been jailed for killing his baby son. Stephen Coukham admitted manslaughter at Truro Crown Court today. He's been sentenced to 3 years 8 months in prison. It follows a two year police investigation. The Investigating Officer, DS Andy Warne says:

"This was a violent act committed against a defenceless 10-week-old baby who sustained terrible injuries at the hands of the very person who should have been caring for him".

DS Warne also acknowledges the work of staff at the Royal Cornwall Hospital Trust in the case. He adds:

"Undoubtedly, their expertise, coupled with the use of the very latest technology, helped us to bring Coukham to justice.”
