A large part of the region has an amber warning in force for moderate to heavy falls of snow this evening and tonight.
The upgraded warning covers Somerset, Dorset and East Devon. There could be up to 10 centimetres of snow in low lying areas. This could increase to 20 centimetres on Exmoor and other high ground.
The snow could be locally heavy over a short period. A longer standing yellow warning to be aware is also running for Dartmoor and parts of West Devon. Cornwall is likely to get rain rather than snow. But some of the rain pulses could be heavy which could lead to surface water problems.
Some lovely weather on offer today but do make the most of it as things are turning rather autumnal next week.
