A couple from Barnstaple have told us how they lived in constant fear after a visit from the bailiffs. Paul and Tara Down claim the bailiff demanded £2000, threatened violence and said he'd return at any time.
It comes as the government has announced new laws to help clean up the bailiff industry and help vulnerable debtors. Under the changes, which will be introduced next year, late-night visits won't be allowed, and restrictions will be put in place over what property can be seized.
