Woman rescued by boat in North Devon
A woman was rescued by boat on a side road off the A377 in North Devon after driving through floodwater. She got stuck on the Tawstock road outside Barnstaple as water lapped waist deep around the car.
The River Taw had spilled over neighbouring fields that run alongside the road. Emergency services say the car could easily have been washed away.
