Fisherman's Friends crew member dies before concert

A concert by the Port Isaac group Fisherman's Friends in Guildford was cancelled last night following the death of a man at the location. He died after a metal door collapsed on him at a concert venue. The victim is believed to be a member of the Cornish band's entourage.

Surrey Police were called to the 'G Live' venue shortly after 11.45am yesterday [Saturday], following a report that two men were trapped under a metal door.

One of the men suffered serious injuries to his legs. He was treated by paramedics, but was declared dead at the scene. The other man was then taken to St George’s Hospital in Tooting with serious head injuries.

The Health and Safety Executive has been informed of the death.
