Statement from Fisherman's Friends
Grief-stricken members of Cornwall-based sea shanty group Fisherman's Friends have thanked the public for their support, after their tour manager died and singer Trevor Grills was seriously injured in a freak accident.
Paul McMullen died at the scene of the incident on Saturday, hours before the ten-piece were due to perform at the G Live venue in Guildford, Surrey.
He was trapped underneath a door at the venue's loading bay, police said. Mr Grills suffered head injuries and is in a serious condition in hospital.
Band member Jon Cleave, who introduces the Fisherman's Friends songs during concerts, gave this statement a short time ago.
