Scarlett lawyer: trial delay due to lack of resources
ITV News West Country has been told that the delay in the trial of two men accused of causing the death of Scarlett Keeling is due to a lack of resources in the criminal justice system in Goa. That is according to Vikram Varma, a lawyer acting for Scarlett's mother.
The Children's Court in Panaji only sits for one day a week as there is only one district judge available. The court has a backlog of cases and is further hampered by adjournments.
