A Police officer involved in a collision with a pedestrian has been suspended from driving while an investigation is carried out.
Last night a 28 year old woman was hit by a police van in Bideford leaving her seriously injured. She was later airlifted to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth.
Avon and Somerset Police have been asked to oversee the investigation.
