Drivers are being urged to take care tonight as snow is forecast, particularly in southern parts of the county.
Road conditions may become challenging as biting Atlantic winds bring cold rain, likely turning to snow overnight. The Met Office has issued an amber alert, forecasting up to 10cm of snow on high ground in southern parts.
Gritters are out this afternoon and will be treating around 1,700 miles of the precautionary salting network across the county, with further treatments through the night as required.
