NewquaySafe's future "unsafe"

There is uncertainty about the future of a scheme to help young holidaymakers stay safe after Cornwall Council decided to cut staff support.

The Newquay Safe Partnership was set up four years ago to crack down on underage drinking after teenager Paddy Higgins died in a fall from cliffs.

The partnership involves police, councils, businesses and residents.

Cornwall Council said on Tuesday that it was cutting at least five staff posts linked to it.
