The trial of the two men accused of conspiring to rob and kill singer Joss Stone has started at Exeter Crown Court.
31-year-old Junior Bradshaw and 34-year-old Kevin Liverpool deny three charges against them. They were arrested near her home in mid-Devon in June 2011.
A samurai sword, two hammers, a hose pipe, balaclavas and roll of gaffer tape were found in their car.
Prosecutor Simon Morgan said that the phrase 'to rob and kill Joss Stone' was not plucked out of the air, but was written in notes.
It's claimed the two men were part of a wider group.
