Fire crews were called out a number of times overnight to rescue people caught in the floods.
These are some of the incidents Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service dealt with:
- 9.15pm Plymstock - Crews freed a person from their car in floodwater in Wembury Road
- 10pm Ashburton - Crews helped residents affected by flooding and advise on protecting their properties
- 5.52am Sidmouth - Crews rescue a person stuck in their car in floodwater in Mill Street
- 6.27am Newton Abbot - Specialist rescue team called to Teigngrace to rescue a person from their car in floodwater
