WWII American servicemen remembered in South Devon

Hundreds of American servicemen killed preparing for the D-Day landings have been remembered alongside locals who gave up their homes for the training in South Devon.

Wreaths were laid in honour of the one thousand men who died in Exercise Tiger, three quarters of whom were attacked by two German E-boats at Slapton Sands. The disaster was covered up for thirty years. Exercise Tiger survivor, John Casner, describes what he saw:
