Veterans of World War II are among former members of the Devonshire and Dorset Regiment in a march through Exeter this morning. Up to 100 ex-soldiers are due to set off from Exeter Guildhall at 1115 for a parade to the cathedral.
Regimental patron the Duke of Kent will take a salute outside the Guildhall, accompanied by the Lord Mayor of Exeter and the Lords Lieutenant of Devon and Dorset. The march will be led by the Devon Army Cadet Force band, with musicians from the Salamanca Band of the Rifles based at Wyvern Barracks.
After a parade on Cathedral Square, a service will be held to re-dedicate the Devonshire Regiment chapel to the Devonshire and Dorset Regiment.
