Premature death rates high in Plymouth and Torbay

A new report has identified Plymouth and Torbay as the places with the highest rates of avoidable premature death in the south west.

According to Public Health England, social deprivation and poor lifestyle choices are largely to blame.

A new report from Public Health England shows that Plymouth and Torbay have very high rates of premature deaths (under 75 years), even though all other areas of Cornwall and Devon have very low rates.
