Scorching South West

Britain is expected to bask in the hottest temperatures of the year this weekend as the country prepares for a long spell of sweltering weather.

Forecasters say temperatures will be much hotter than the July average, with highs across the South West in the high 20s. The last time we enjoyed a long spell of warm July weather was in 2006.
