Plans to close ten inpatient beds at Torrington Community Hospital put on hold

Plans to close ten inpatient beds at Torrington Community Hospital have been put on hold and a public meeting due to be held in the town today has been postponed.

The local NHS trust's plan to treat patients at home instead of in the hospital for a six month trial caused uproar.

The Mid Devon MP Geoffrey Cox has persuaded the trust to extend the period for consultation and a public meeting has been re-arranged for September 12th.
