A new £20m history attraction is to be built in Plymouth.
The City Council will start to get the project off the ground from today.
It will see the transformation of the existing Museum into a cutting-edge, interactive centre which will be three times the size it is now.
They want to bring to life the city's most influential historic figures such as Scott, Darwin and Drake.
The Council will be looking for Heritage Lottery funding to help pay for the centre.
They hope it will attract more visitors, create local jobs and boost the city's economy but it's not due to open until January 2018.
