Apparently it's the first new town in Devon since medieval times - around 250 homes are now occupied in Cranbrook in the east of the county.
The primary school has grown from thirty pupils last year to more than a 180 this term. The entire community is being built from scratch with most people moving from other parts of the county. Richard Lawrence reports.
