Discussions are taking place to try and secure the future of an air link between Cornwall and London, Cornwall Council has asked the Government to provide a subsidy for the route.
If successful, it would help to pay an airline to provide the service for the next four years.
The council has been trying to negotiate a new provider since FlyBe decided to stop flights from Newquay.
