Newquay could be site of new spaceport

Cornwall could be the site of a new multi billion pound spaceport to launch satellites and rockets carrying passengers into space.

Newquay Airport is the only site in England to match the proposed criteria for a spaceport, with other sites identified in Wales and Scotland. The Government is hoping to decide on a location by next year and have it up and running by 2018.
