Hundreds of people marched through Ilfracombe today in remembrance of those who went to war a hundred years ago. Every soldier who fell was remembered with their own plaque. The parade was led by town crier Ray Goodwin. He was inspired to organise the event by a photograph of the first batch of volunteers from the town marching off to the front, led by their town crier.
