The man convicted of murdering Cornish pensioner Joan Roddam is to be sentenced at Truro Crown Court today.

Patrick Curran was found guilty of strangling the 74-year-old at her home in Delabole in 2003. He was a close friend of her family.

The jury at Truro Crown Court heard that Curran killed Mrs Roddam when she rebuffed his sexual advances.
