Becky Watts' killer Shauna Hoare renews appeal against sentence

Shauna Hoare was jailed for 17 years for Becky's manslaughter.

Shauna Hoare who was convicted of killing Bristol teenager Becky Watts has renewed her bid to get her sentence reduced.

Hoare who's 22 was jailed for 17 years for her part in a sexually-motivated kidnap plot.

Her partner- Becky's step brother Nathan Matthews was jailed for 33 years for murder.

Last month a judge threw out an attempt by the couple to appeal against both their convictions and sentences

Nathan Matthews was convicted of murdering his step-sister Becky last November.

Becky's stepbrother Nathan Matthews has also renewed his appeal. He's been in prison for nearly 5 months but has now lodged a further application at the Court of Appeal.

A spokesman for the Judicial Office said:

Nathan Matthews has renewed his application to appeal his sentence only.

The next stage is for this to be heard in front of a panel of three judges who will decide whether to grant him permission to appeal.

If he is granted permission to appeal then there would then be a hearing to consider the substance of an appeal.
