Police have released CCTV images of three men they would like to speak to, as they investigate the use of counterfeit notes in Shaftesbury.

There have been reports that counterfeit £50 notes had been used in petrol station at the town's Tesco supermarket, and in the Subway store at Ivy Cross on Monday 20 February.

At around 6pm three men entered the Subway store and each of them purchased items of small value with a £50 note.

The notes were later found to be counterfeit and had the same serial number.

Around an hour later, a number of men entered the Tesco petrol station and again used counterfeit £50 notes to purchase low value items or asked directly for change.

Following our investigations, we are now in a position to release CCTV images of three men we would like to speak to in connection with these incidents.

I would appeal to anyone who recognises them or who has any further information to please contact me.
