An agreement has been reached on who should run Cornwall Council. The Independent and Liberal Democrat groups have decided this afternoon that they will seek to form a joint administration. This will be put to the Annual Meeting of the Full Council on Tuesday.
It comes after talks between Conservative and independents councillors broke down. Despite having the most councillors elected, the Conservatives did not gain overall control of the local authority following the local elections earlier this month.
It is expected that the council will also elect a leader during Tuesday's meeting.
