Torquay United's Kevin Nicholson has become the first manager in any of England's top 5 leagues to be sacked this season.

The Gulls flirted with relegation last season and have failed to win any of their first four matches this campaign.

Torquay are due to face Guiseley away from home on Saturday as they look to get a win in the Conference Premier.

Following, the departure of Kevin Nicholson as manager of Torquay United, the team travel to Guiseley on Saturday under the stewardship of assistant manager, Robbie Herrera.

The search for a new manager has already begun and we welcome all applications for the position.

As a player, he goes down as one of the United greats, a committed and talented full-back, and a member of some of the best sides to have graced Plainmoor in recent memory.

As a manager, Kevin has worked tirelessly to bring success back to the club. His work in the community has been outstanding and an example for future managers.
