Residents in part of Bristol remain away from their homes after a number of houses were evacuated last night when a potentially hazardous substance was found by emergency crews. Firefighters and police were called to a house in Hastings Close, Bedminster last night after residents reported hearing a series of bangs. Two men were taken to hospital and the road was later cordoned off as bomb disposal teams were called in. At the moment there are no reports of explosives being found.
Residents living within 100m of the property were advised to leave their homes. Police have been liaising with Bristol City Council to help them find temporary accommodation.
