A new campaign to protect seals from the public has been launched in Cornwall.

It follows a number of incidents including a case at St Ives Harbour, in which a seal was injured when it got caught in a propellor after being fed off a boat. The seal has not been seen since.

Another seal, feared pregnant, was seen swimming with a spear in its back last week.

The Cornwall Seal Group Research Trust is trying to create more awareness by using signage and other methods to discourage people from feeding seals.

The Trust say feeding the mammals can also encourage them to bite.
