Weston-super-Mare annual beach race attracts crowds of 70,000 to seaside town

900 motor and quad bike riders competed in one of the world's most extreme off-road tracks in Weston-super-Mare.

The 35th annual beach race took place in the seaside town, attracting crowds of around 70,000 people.

The event, which includes specially-built sand dunes for the competition, is believed to add up to £10million to the local economy.
