Lidl supermarket chain opens new warehouse in Exeter

The supermarket chain, Lidl, has opened a 50,000 square metre distribution centre in Exeter today, 10 November.

The warehouse, which is Lidl’s 12th one in the UK, has led to the creation of 500 new jobs.

It is based at the city's Gateway Business Park and will service 51 stores across the South West.

The supermarket is expected to distribute 40,000 turkeys, 1,500,000 mince pies and 100,000 bottles of Prosecco to the South West during the 2017 Christmas period.
