The owners of an Exeter hardware supplier are counting the cost of a fire which wrecked their store on the Marsh Barton trading estate. Fire crews were called to Westward early this morning after a passer-by spotted smoke and heard alarms going off.
More than 30 firefighters tackled the blaze, which resulted in the closure of Alphin Brook Road and caused disruption to rush hour traffic.
Saltash-based Westward specialises in door and window supplies and has five stores in the region. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
