Six properties in Mount Pleasand Avenue in Weymouth are still without electricity after a power cable was damaged in the Dorset town.

Scottish and Southern Energy says thousands of homes and businesses across Dorset and Somerset were left without electricity just after 11am this morning, 24 November after a 'third party' damaged an underground cable.

The firm has reconnected most of its customers by diverting power from elsewhere but six homes in the street where the damage happened do not have power.

SSE says it believes the remaining properties will be connected by 4pm today. It apologises to all those affected.
