Educating Joey Essex follows our favourite Essex boy as he takes his Joeyisms to the heart of Africa to receive a first hand education in African wildlife and culture.
Fresh from his jungle adventure, Joey’s eyes have been opened to the big wide world and he’s now off in search of his childhood love – monkeys. Convinced he was surrounded by monkeys in Australia, ITV2 have now sent him in the right direction as he heads off on another once-in-a- lifetime experience.
Embarking upon a jaw-dropping journey of discovery, Joey’s African mission sees him head to the Kruger National Park for another test of nerve and resilience, when he camps out all night alone and sleeps next to a pack of hyenas.
It’s then onto Uganda for a visit to the Ngamba Island’s famous chimpanzee sanctuary - nature lover Joey has always been monkey mad, but how will he feel when he finally comes face-to-face with some of the world’s most endangered primates in their natural environment?
