Tonight

What a Waste:
In Britain, we throw away more than seven million tonnes of food and drink every year, with most of that waste occuring at the very end of the supply chain – in our homes and in restaurants.
It’s estimated that the average family discards £680 worth of food over a 12-month period.
In tonight’s programme, Jonathan Maitland will be looking at steps we can all take to reduce the amount of food we throw away. He’ll also be visiting a supermarket that reckons it’s well on the way to becoming waste-free and asking what restaurants are doing to cut waste.
