Countrywise returns for a brand-new eight-part series, exploring the best of Britain’s coast and country, and joining series regular, farming and agricultural expert Paul Heiney, will be new additions, intrepid adventurer Ben Fogle and wildlife biologist Liz Bonnin.

Immersing viewers in the changing face and hidden beauty of rural Britain, the fresh mix of items in the new series will explore our countryside’s best stories and key issues, encompassing wildlife, conservation, farming, science and along the way meeting those who live and work there.

Ben Fogle spends the day with a Somerset vet and gets up close and personal with a bull. Liz Bonnin meets the Wiltshire bee keepers protecting an ancient British species; and Paul Heiney is making hay in a precious Yorkshire meadow.

And we find out why our crayfish population is disappearing, thanks to an unwelcome invader from the USA.
