Episode two

Following his release from police custody, Christopher Jefferies (Jason Watkins) remains on bail and housebound at his friend Charles’s home.  Meanwhile in Holland, Jefferies’s other tenant Vincent Tabak (Joe Sims), is questioned by police, having contacted them to offer up information. The additional details he supplies seem to further incriminate Jefferies but nonetheless Tabak is reluctant to give a routine DNA sample.

Jefferies’s Lawyer, Paul Okebu (Shaun Parkes) relays news to Christopher of Vincent Tabak’s arrest.  There was a DNA match with that found on Jo Yeates’s body making Tabak the new prime suspect and Christopher is relieved he can return to his own home.

Still reeling from the attacks on his appearance in the newspapers, and at the suggestion of his friends, Christopher decides to change his appearance and has a haircut. The flyaway long white hair is gone and he is transformed. However, despite being cleared by the police, he still feels the stigma of his arrest has affected his public and professional life. People stare at him on the streets of Bristol, and the examination board cut down his work.  Making a decision to fight back and clear his reputation, he embarks upon a journey that will take him through the courts of justice and back into the spotlight.
