Series overview

Robson Green returns for a third instalment of this popular series, as he continues to explore his home county - one of the most fascinating, remote and beautiful parts of Great Britain.

This time, in each episode Robson tackles a different journey through Northumberland: from hiking the Pennine Way, to travelling along the border with Scotland; from travelling by air to get a bird’s eye view of the region, to following the route of the River Tyne.

Along the way he’ll tell the stories of the people and landmarks he encounters on his travels.

This third series also sees Robson take on exciting new experiences that he’s never done before - including sailing a hundred year old Tall Ship in the North Sea, fell running in the Cheviot Hills, leading The Rothbury Pipe Band in a commemorative parade through the town, flying a glider over the National Park, taking a tour round a poisonous garden with The Duchess Of Northumberland and ringing osprey chicks in Kielder Forest.

He’ll also uncover the stories behind Northumberland’s fascinating history, traditions and wildlife - including tales of Britain’s oldest working lifeboat station, seafaring explorers, Anglo Saxon kings and the Northumbrian landscaper known as “the Shakespeare of gardening.”
