Ken finally prepares to face the truth that his marriage to Pauline is over. He puts the family house on the market, tries to sell all the contents of the house in a fire sale (much to the family’s horror) and even prepares to go on an internet date (much to the family’s greater horror). It’s on his date though that all falls into place for Ken, and he realises with urgency what he must do to win Pauline back…
Meanwhile Pauline has started to have reservations about the choices she’s made about Peter and Ken, and seems ready to hear what Ken has to say. Kevin presents Pauline and Ken with a weekend away in the hotel that they spent their honeymoon in, and Ken waits on tenterhooks to see whether Pauline will join him at the train station – will she come, or is the marriage too broken to fix?
Details about Heather and Ashley start to spill out little by little as Heather’s guilt gnaws at her resolve, and once it reaches Kevin he takes it upon himself to give Charlie enough information to figure out the awful truth for himself. Charlie does so, and is ripped apart. Ashley tells Heather how much he loves her as Charlie tells her they can make it work, that he can love the baby even though it’s not his… who will Heather choose?
Rowan faces the reality that she’ll be knocking around her huge house on her own soon, and Sarah resolves to accept Kevin for all his flaws.
