It’s semi-final time for Food Glorious Food.

Three cracking regional heat winners compete to win a place in the final by cooking a whopping 150 portions of their delicious dishes for the ladies of the Women’s Institute.

This week contestants are 92-year-old Eunice with her pasty recipe rounds up a crack team of grannies;  a husband and wife team with a novel salmon cheesecake; and the inspiring disabled college kids who are hoping to wow the WI with their take on everyones childhood favourite - jelly packed with booze!

The band of merry home cooks are feeling the pressure and each has their breaking point. For usually stoic Grandma Eunice it’s a set of digital scales.

Anyone with a passion for cooking has a favourite dish that they love to cook, be it something they created themselves, or a recipe passed down through the generations.

Now, in this delightful new series for ITV, a team of expert judges have scoured the country for Britain’s best loved recipe, with the winning dish earning a place on the shelves of Marks & Spencer and a £20,000 cash prize.

Presented by Carol Vorderman, the series will see contestants up and down the country bringing their dishes to be sampled.

The judges, Stacie Stewart from the Beehive Bakery, food writer and editor Tom Parker Bowles, food connoisseur Loyd Grossman and vice chairwoman of the WI Anne Harrison, will be tasting the dishes and choosing their favourites to go through to the next round.

From pasties to pastries, jellies to jalfrezis and cakes to casseroles, any dish is welcome as this colourful series celebrates food, glorious food for the nation.
