It’s a new week and Pete is embarking on an image makeover - now he’s hit forty he feels he needs to have a more sophisticated look. He’s kicking off his week in London recording voice-over for his new series ‘60 Minute Makeover’ but as usual it’s a jam packed schedule and after a quick session in the sound booth Pete is rushed off to the studio for an appearance on ITV’s Loose Women. The ladies are desperate to hear news of pregnant Emily and to question Pete on life after hitting forty.
His age is also a hot topic at Pete’s next appointment, a very important photo shoot. Pete needs fresh pictures for his upcoming tour where he is showcasing a new sound and a new image. With the help of his stylist brother Mike, Pete wants to create a more mature look. Away with the gimmicky outfits – Pete wants suave and sophistication.
Pete’s new, mature look isn’t his only change this week. As his ‘nesting’ for the new baby continues a domesticated streak suddenly appears – much to the shock of his team.
At home, a patient Emily is on hand to assist Pete as he attempts to build and hang a new shoe rack. Sadly it seems his days on ‘60 Minute Makeover’ may not have turned Pete into the DIY expert he hoped.
Then, keen to take on new career challenges, Pete faces his most nerve-wrecking job to date – hosting the BBC comedy music quiz 'Never Mind The Buzzcock’s'. The show is famous for its cutting humour and Pete is in the hot seat. As his nerves kick, even Emily suggests it’s lucky Pete’s gags are scripted for him. There’s at least one fan in the audience giving Pete moral support – Emily’s mum.
Pete’s hectic week ends with him performing at two gigs scheduled for the same night, and there’s a mad dash to get Pete, and his live band, from one venue to another - on time and ready to perform. However, a technical hitch and a traffic jam don’t make this an easy mission.
Pete may be forty, but life’s not slowing down and he wouldn’t want it any other way.
